Diana Switzer

I majored in Communication Design at the University of North Texas. After interning at Dallas agencies Publicis Hawkeye and RAPP during undergrad, I accepted a full-time junior art director position straight out of college at RAPP, a direct response agency leader. I spent 4 years at RAPP before returning to my Publicis Hawkeye roots for 2 more years to hone my interactive chops. I took that agency experience to in-house brands Match.com, Vari (formerly VARIDESK) and now USAA where I now lead UX design surrounding the auto insurance product SafePilot. From display ads, email design, app development, mobile responsive implementation to marketing landing pages, eCommerce initiatives and overall site enhancement and user experience strategy, I’ve done it all in some form or another.

I was also part of Collin College’s Board of Advisors to guide the creation of a User Experience degree. I joined other creative professionals to determine the best types of classes to train a new generation of UX designers. I have joined an internal group at USAA to better evangelize the transition from Sketch to Figma, serving as a point-of-contact for all USAA internal design education initiatives.

When I'm not wizarding up more interactive design, I can be found SCUBA diving in the Caribbean with my husband, walking my heeler/boxer-mix Tali, perched in my recliner chair playing the latest video games (console and PC) or helping my illustrator friend comp up her next comic book.

My personal motto is "I get it done." Thanks to rigorous agency hours on new business pitches and tight deadlines, I have become fearless to the concept of time. Because I know how to get it done. With speed, precision, and thoughtfulness and an eye for simple, sleek, actionable design. I don't want things to just Look Good. I want people to know what to do with it, too.

I've built brands from scratch (Match.com's redesign) and honed existing ones to a polished edge (Vari). I've worked on utility, financial, insurance, retail, and eCommerce clients. And I love making good brands even better.
